An Easy and Quick Pie with Cheese and Ham Filling is the perfect solution when you need a comforting, satisfying meal without spending hours in the kitchen. This savory pie combines the rich creaminess of melted cheese with the salty, flavorful bite of ham, all wrapped in a soft, golden crust. It’s a classic combination that never goes out of style and appeals to both adults and children alike.

Ingredients

For the pie base and filling:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 3 large eggs

  • 1 cup milk

  • ½ cup vegetable oil or melted butter

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

For the filling:

  • 1½ cups grated cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or a mix)

  • 1 cup cooked ham, diced or sliced

  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano or Italian seasoning (optional)

Optional additions:

  • ½ cup chopped onions

  • ½ cup sliced olives

  • ½ cup bell peppers

  • ¼ teaspoon paprika or chili flakes

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Lightly grease a baking dish or pie pan and set it aside.

  • Prepare the batter
In a large mixing bowl, whisk the eggs until lightly beaten. Add the milk and oil (or melted butter) and mix well.

  • Add dry ingredients
Sift in the flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until you get a smooth, lump-free batter. Avoid overmixing, as this can make the pie dense.

  • Prepare the filling
In a separate bowl, combine the grated cheese and diced ham. If using optional ingredients like onions or peppers, mix them in at this stage.

  • Assemble the pie
Pour half of the batter into the prepared baking dish. Spread it evenly. Add the cheese and ham mixture on top, distributing it evenly. Pour the remaining batter over the filling and gently spread it to cover.

  • Bake
Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 35–45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  • Cool and serve
Remove from the oven and allow the pie to cool for 10–15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
